About Dick Kramer
I was born in 1938 in the city of Newark, New Jersey. The early years of my life were spent in the small New Jersey town of Nutley. I was never a good student, I spent too much time drawing. It caused a lot of trouble for me and my family during my school years. I was constantly in trouble for not doing my work. I was too busy drawing.

I left High School on my 17th birthday and joined the Navy. It was one of the best things that ever happened to me. I realized the terrible mistake I had made with my life and finished my education in the Navy.

After four years I was honorably discharged and returned to Nutley where I asked Ginny, the love of my life, to marry me. Thank God, she said yes. We have been married for 52 years and she is still my girlfriend. I am a blessed man.

I began my art education at the Newark School of Fine and Industrial Art in Newark, New Jersey. I transferred to The School of Visual Arts in New York City and finished my art education there. After working for a chain store doing pen and ink illustrations for their advertising publications, I decided to free-lance. We had $78.00 in the bank, four kids and I quit my full time job. Ginny always believed in me even though it was a terrible time as far as money was concerned. She never complained or told me to get a real job; my father-in-law told me that. Ginny has always been behind me, no matter what was happening.

I then spent 8 years as Art Director for ITT Avionics Division, a defense contractor. I found out that I wasn’t meant to be in the “Corporate World” and went back to free-lancing. We moved to Florida, spent 8 years there and that’s where my entire life changed.

I met John Meyer. At that time he was the head of H&K Training Division. He approached me about doing a few drawings for a poster advertising their training facility in Sterling, Virginia. I said yes and produced seven vignette drawings for the poster. It was a series of SWAT Officers doing what they do so well. I didn’t think much of it. The check cleared and I forgot about H&K. When the poster was distributed world wide, the receptionist at H&K threatened to quit. The telephone lines lit up with SWAT Officers from around the world wanting to know who was doing these drawings and how could they get copies. That was the beginning of our fabulous life. We literally started at our kitchen table. I produced four sketches, the first of hundreds and hundreds to come. The rest is history. Ginny and I have been all over the world, from England to Germany to Abudabi and Dubai and all over our wonderful U.S.A. God has blessed us with a wonderful life filled with good friends in the SWAT Community and Corporate World. Half of our business is from our on-line sales of prints and half is from Corporate Commissions.

I never tire of drawing, especially the SWAT/Military world. Ginny and I admire and pray for all of the fabulous people we meet in our business. They are the brightest, bravest and best that our Nation has to offer. Our hearts break when a Police Officer or young Warrior dies in battle. We are all poorer for the loss of such wonderful young men and women. I feel honored to be so close to them and what they do. Every day they place their lives on the line so that we can enjoy the lives and freedoms we have. God bless each and every one of them and their families.

People ask when I will retire or stop drawing. I reply that I want to die at the drawing board. I love what I do and can’t imagine life without my art. I hope God will grant me many more years of drawing the people that Ginny and I love so much.

Set in wartime Canada, England and Germany in 1941, Johnny Recruit is a story about hope, heroics and youthful ambition. When 14-year-old Big Johnny learns his uncle’s been captured by Nazis during a WW2 air battle, he’s sure only one person can rescue his mentor – himself. Stellar bush pilot and expert game hunter, Johnny lies about his age and joins the fight in Europe to find his best friend.

Publisher Harry Markos had no hesitation signing the young boy to a book deal.

“Markosia is all about offering great comics that explore new ideas and concepts from creators everywhere,” says Markos. “Johnny Recruit is full of emotion, energy and lots of fun. This is an exciting project, an excellent story from a very talented team.”

Both the writer and artist are fascinated by 20th century war – and soon after meeting discovered they each had a great uncle named Bert who fought in WWII: Theo’s was a distinguished Canadian RAF flying ace whilst Tom’s a heroic soldier who spent three years in a German POW camp.

“We all have great relatives in our family trees, people who’ve lived amazing lives and done amazing things, says Behe. “My great uncle Bert was one of them. He shot down lots of enemy planes – even got shot down himself. He has made our family proud. So I wanted to write some fun adventures around him – create some new characters and heroes that might match up to what he did.”

Their approach of inking a retro WW2 comic in a black and white double page scenic spread fits nicely with the overall vibe of story.

“I love the challenge of having no words and single landscape panels to tell this story,” says Canadian artist Tom Muzzell who’s been creating comics for over 40 years. “There’s lots of detail in the script, plenty going on each page – so lots of planning needed. And I love the story – this book would be on my shelf even if I wasn’t working on it.”

“I like to read pretty much everything – comics, novels, history books, Insta posts,” says Behe. “Now my friend Tom is making my story into these amazing comic pages – they’re turning out great and just the way I imagined.”

Acclaimed Author, Steven Markoff, Examines the Impact of 9/11

Markoff, author of The Case Against George W. Bush, reasserts that George W. Bush did not try to stop 9/11 from happening, despite Bush having received high-level intel that we would be attacked by Al-Qaeda. Mr. Markoff has never found the reason why George W. Bush didn’t work to prevent the known imminent 9/11 attacks, but it’s still clear to the author that Bush did not try.

“9/11 didn’t need to happen, given the many warnings George W. Bush received that we would be attacked by Al-Qaeda,” Mr. Markoff says. “Those pre-9/11 warnings came from people knowledgeable in terrorism and about Al-Qaeda. The sources of those warnings included outgoing president Bill Clinton, counterterrorism expert Richard Clarke, outgoing Clinton National Security Agency Advisers Sandy Berger and Don Kerrick, Director of the Counterterrorist Center Cofer Black, FBI Director Thomas Pickard, and Director of Central Intelligence George Tenet, who served under Presidents Bill Clinton and George W. Bush.

“In addition, Bush was advised of forthcoming Al-Qaeda attacks by the CIA and in the President’s Daily Brief. Even in the face of such warnings, Bush did nothing to try to defend our country from the attacks. He was too busy selling the never-found Iraqi WMD, and planning to take Iraqi oil,” Mr. Markoff concludes.

Although 9/11 was the worst act of terrorism waged on United States soil in history, given the thousands of Americans who died that day and the many who would die from their heroic efforts trying to help in the fog of the twin towers collapsing, Mr. Markoff says that most people and even the media erroneously believe that 9/11 happened out of the blue, and therefore nothing could have been done to prevent it.

“Even the well-crafted Netflix series, ‘Turning Point: 9/11 and the War on Terror,’ begins with 9/11, as do most articles and discussions of that horrific day,” Mr. Markoff explains. During his own three and a half years spent researching 130 published books, media and government documents, Mr. Markoff notes that he and his researchers found nothing to indicate that Bush tried to avert what would become 9/11.

“If our Justice Department looked at the frequent and powerful pre-9/11 warnings Bush had received, and that he did nothing about, he would at least be under indictment for criminal negligence, rather than looked at today as a benign statesman and artist.”
